The Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses

I had the opportunity to visit 秦始皇兵馬俑博物館 (The Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses), located in Shaanxi Province, China, and see the Terracotta Warriors and Horses in person. Truly breathtaking! It was an amazing experience!

Pit 1 is the largest excavation pit of the Terracotta Army. It is assumed that more than 6,000 terracotta warriors and horses, and 50 chariots were buried in Pit 1. Up to now, about 2,000 terracotta warriors and horses, and 20 chariots have been unearthed.

High-ranking Officer (or the Generals) / 高級軍吏俑.  The high rank of the General is indicated by his height, clothing, and headgear. He wears double-layered robes under a colorful fish-scaled armor, and a high headgear tied with ribbons under the chin. The shoes are with square opening and upward-bending tips. There are knots made of ribbons to decorate the armor at front, back and shoulder. There are only seven of the Generals found in the Terracotta Pits.
