Today was our first time at Daniel, a three Michelin star French restaurant by Chef Daniel Boulud in the Upper West Side. Kind of an early celebration of our anniversary in April 🙂 We picked different things from the 3-course prix fixe menu so that we could try a variety of dishes.
To start off we were served the trio of amuse bouche – refreshing bites of potato, sweet potato puree, and a piece of fish.
One of the highlights of the night was the Foie Gras, served with rum, roasted pineapple, passion fruit marmalade, and pine nuts. The Foie Gras was melt-in-your-mouth delicious!
The other appetizer we got was ravioli with black trumpet and butter poached lobster tail. Very tasty as well.
One of the entree we had was black sea bass with Syrah sauce, served with cauliflower and potatoes. It was not bad.
Our favorite dish of the night was the Duo of Beef – braised Black Angus short ribs with chestnut puree, and seared Wagyu tenderloin with bordelaise sauce. The Wagyu was heavenly and we almost had to fight for it!
We enjoyed a variety of desserts including a little nice complimentary one for our anniversary celebration. Our favorite was the madeleines, freshly baked, warm and super fluffy!
P.S. Ran into Bobby Flay and Stephanie March on the way out!
P.P.S. Brian was in his suit because they had a strict dress code.
