Today we tried the omakase at Kabuto, a small, intimate sushi restaurant in Chinatown, Las Vegas. The fish is super fresh and delicious. Loved the experience!
It was fun watching the sushi chefs working so intensely on the fish.
Some chefs focused on the white fish and the rest on the red.
Amuse bouche was Grape Sake.
Shigoku Oysters from Seattle (a la carte).
Appetizer: Monkfish liver with nagaimo (mountain yam), cucumber and seaweed.
Hirame (fluke).
Inada (young yellowtail).
Fukko (baby Japanese seabass).
Our chef.
So meticulous about each piece.
Akami (bluefin tuna).
Chu-toro (medium fatty tuna). Yum!!
Ma-saba (Japanese mackerel).
Aoyagi (orange clam).
Ikura (salmon roe) Bowl.
Toro (fatty tuna) Bowl.
Gyoku (sweet omelet). This was the end of the nigiri for Omakase. But we wanted a few more things!
So we both got this: Botan-ebi (live sweet shrimp).
Brian also got Uni from Hokkaido. This was his favorite of today!
I got: Ma-aji (jack mackerel).
Another one for Brian: Kogane anago (golden sea eel).
The Chu-toro was so good I had to get another one. My favorite of the night! It melted in my mouth. Loved it!
Negi-toro Handroll.
Raspberry Sorbet was one of the desserts we got.
We also got the Black Sesame Ice Cream, with fresh ground sesame and sea salt on top. Very tasty!
