Creative Dishes at AnnaLena

Our first time trying out AnnaLena in Kitsilano did not disappoint. The restaurant is beautiful and the dishes are quite creative and tasty!

First up, a pretty drink! “Absolutely Darling” – Absolut vodka, lillet, cardamom, ginger, fresh lemon with egg whites.

Some torn bread to start. It is really really good!! They used smoked beef tallow butter and the bread is charred. Yum!!

Heirloom tomatoes with burrata, cucumber, basil, pickled shallots, with watermelon vinaigrette. Very refreshing!

Maple glazed boar belly with mustard spaetzle (a special type of egg noodle), baby turnip, and smoked carrot puree.

We were planning on trying their famous chicken dish, but as soon as we heard that today’s special is duck, we went for it!  This dish is confit duck thigh, chanterelles (cute looking mushrooms!) with corn custard foam. Very special and delicious!!
