Today we tried the Omakase at Miku, located at the waterfront near the convention center. They asked to fill out a form beforehand to specify how much we’d like to spend, and would design the courses according to the budget. The restaurant has some kind of special mood lighting that changes every few seconds, so some photos came out with weird colors… :/
A photo at the entrance.
Oyster shooter with ponzu, dashi, yuzu, ikura, and konbu. Love!
Wonton wrapped wagyu beef with chives and rice noodle.
Sunomono wth scallop and shrimp.
Aji (so fresh!!), Otoro (soooooo good!!!), Kanpachi, and Sockeye salmon.
Wagyu Carpaccio: premium kobe beef with ponzu sauce, arugula and Chinese pear. It was great!
Miso soup with hamachi, sockeye salmon, daikon, carrots, green onions. The best miso soup! 🙂
Shrimp, shiitake, eggplant tempura, with 3 kinds of salt: garlic, 7-spice, and matcha.
Finally the nigiri!
Aburi Salmon Oshi Sushi: Salmon pressed and dressed with their special sauce, topped with jalapéno. The salmon melts in your mouth! One of my favorites!
Saba.
Uni.
Maguro with masatake sauce (onions and sesame oil).
Lobster.
Albacore with miso glaze.
Alberta beef with puréed potatoes, mushrooms, carrot, broccoli with red wine reduced jus. Very tender!!
Lobster with miku sauce. At this point we had to tell them to stop… (It turned out that they were waiting for us to tell them when to stop serving the meail and move on to desserts. ^^”)
We were so stuffed but they highly recommended that we at least try one dessert, so we did. We had Apple Galette: Caramelized passion fruit infused gala apples with saffron infused vanilla ice cream, painted white chocolate, fresh berries and vanilla sauce. Another favorite!
It was a huge meal!! Next time we’d like to have a nigiri-focused omakase, or just order a few of our favorites to try!
